Vjosa Osmani

Dr. Vjosa Osmani Sadriu is the sixth President of the Republic of Kosovo.

President Osmani was elected on 4 April 2021, having previously served as the Speaker of Parliament and after being elected as a Member of Parliament (MP) of the Republic of Kosovo in five consecutive mandates. She graduated from the Faculty of Law of the University of Prishtina, and received her Masters and Doctorate degrees in international law from the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania, United States.

The President of the Republic of Kosovo is also the Commander-in-Chief of the Kosovo Security Force and leads the country’s foreign policy, as per Kosovo’s constitution. As a staunch advocate for an impartial and professional justice system, President Osmani has strongly supported extensive rule of law reforms in Kosovo.

As President, Vjosa Osmani has relentlessly championed women’s rights, in particular with regards to their participation in processes of peace and security as well as their economic and political empowerment. The President is devoted to raising awareness for and supporting children with special needs. She is also committed to the empowerment of disadvantaged and marginalized groups in Kosovo. The President’s work has also focused on ensuring that action on climate change starts from the individual and gains further support at the highest political levels. In addition, empowerment of youth in different areas, from information technology to political decision making, has been an important part of the work of the President.

In the February 2021 elections, she achieved a historic level of popular support, becoming the most voted politician in the history of elections in the Republic of Kosovo. Prior to that, Vjosa Osmani was the first woman to have served as the Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Kosovo having been elected to the post on 3 February 2020, and has also served as Acting President of the Republic of Kosovo between November 2020 – March 2021. In previous terms as an MP, she chaired the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs, the Committee on European Integration and was the Deputy Chair of the Committee on Constitutional Reform.

From 2006 to 2010 Vjosa Osmani served as Chief of Staff to President Fatmir Sejdiu and Senior Advisor on Legal and International Affairs, and represented the President in the Commission which drafted the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo. She also served in the team that represented Kosovo before the International Court of Justice in the historic case regarding Kosovo’s declaration of independence.

Since 2006, President Osmani taught at the Faculty of Law of the University of Prishtina, and later she also joined the faculty of the American University in Kosovo (RIT). Moreover, she taught at the University of Pittsburgh in the U.S. as a visiting professor. In 2017, she was awarded the Sheth International Award by the University of Pittsburgh. During her political career she has also received a number of other recognitions.

President Osmani previously served as a member of the Board of the Parliamentary Network on the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund and a member of the Steering Committee of the Global Young MP’s Initiative of the World Bank and the IMF.

Vjosa Osmani was born on May 17, 1982 in Mitrovica, and also completed her studies in elementary and high school in her hometown. Apart for her mother tongue Albanian, President Osmani speaks English and a few other foreign languages. She is married to Prindon Sadriu and they have two twin daughters, Anda Elisa Sadriu and Dua Tiara Sadriu. President Osmani and her family live in Prishtina.

Përparim Rama was born in Prishtina on January 20, 1976.

He completed his undergraduate studies in architecture at London South Bank University from 1995 to 1998. From 2001 to 2003 he continued the second part of his studies at the University of East London.

Having completed his Bachelor studies, he pursued a Master DipArch degree at the University of East London. He was recognized as a distinguished Master by Center for Evolutionary Computing in Architecture.

He initially worked as a consultant at London Southampton Airport. He also has experience as a mentor in the School of Architecture at the University of Nottingham and has supervised Doctorate Candidates in Generative Architecture and SMART building design in the MA and PHD program at the SmartLab Media Institute.

In 2012, at the Venice Biennale of Architecture, Rama represented Kosovo for the first time in history with the ‘Filigree Maker’ Pavilion, which was positively welcomed by the international media.

Rama was a consultant to the National Research Fund of the State of Qatar on the country’s current and future urban and architectural projects.
He is also the leader of the master plan project team for the development of a 10 hectares sustainable village in Dhërmi,southeast coast of Albania.
Përparim Rama was a specialist advisor for the development of spatial planning tools and architecture in the municipalities of  Newham Council  and Tower Hamlets in London.

He has led the drafting of the regulatory plan for Kosovo’s capital, Prishtina. He is a periodic advisor/critic at the University of East London and a Periodic Critic at the Architectural Association of the United Kingdom.
He is also known for his involvement in the spatial planning of the 2012 London Olympics, for engaging in building the vision of Doha, the capital of Qatar, for major projects in New York, Dublin, Basel, Prague and Damascus, Syria.
He is the winner of the most prestigious award in the world for designing coffee places in the “World Interior New” competition within the Saatchi gallery in 2013.

Përparim Rama was elected Mayor of Prishtina in the 2021 mayoral elections and is currently serving as Mayor.

Nicolas Marquier

Nicolas Marquier is IFC’s Regional Manager for the Western Balkans, overseeing IFC’s strategy and business, as well as managing key client relationships across Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia. Based in Belgrade, he oversees IFC’s regional efforts to spur private sector growth and attract private investment in key areas, including connectivity, inclusion and climate resilience.

Nicolas joined IFC in 2010 and has worked there in various capacities. Most recently, he served as IFC’s Country Manager for Singapore, Malaysia, and Brunei Darussalam, strengthening the IFC’s Asia and Pacific regional hub office operations and ramping up its outbound investments to emerging markets. Prior to that, he was the Adviser to two successive IFC CEOs during formative times for the institution.

He contributed to the development and implementation of IFC’s strategy, led organizational changes, helped address advisory and investment project related issues and developed strong relationships with IBRD, IDA and MIGA as well as with clients and development partners.

Arnhild Spence

Ms. Spence of Norway has 30 years of professional experience from government, the UN, NATOand civil society. She has cross-cutting competencies in security, development and humanitarian affairs.

Ms Spence joined the World Food Programme in 2014 as Director of Partnerships. She led the implementation of WFP’s Partnership Strategy, while also coordinating the organization’s work on Agenda 2030 and World Humanitarian Summit. She subsequently served with WFP in theDemocratic Republic of Congo, supporting famine and Ebola response as Director of Partnerships.

More recently, Ms Spence managed WFP’s field operations in Pakistan as deputy and acting Country Director. In Pakistan, she supported the government in its UN Food Systems Summit engagement, disaster management and augmenting social protection. In September 2021 she was seconded by WFP to the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Movement, where she led organizational transformation and served as Acting Director.

Prior to joining WFP, Ms Spence served with OCHA, UN Office in Geneva, Norwegian Refugee Council and the Red Cross Movement. Her first field deployment was in 2012, as Deputy Head of Office, OCHA Afghanistan.

Ms Spence began her career in the field of foreign and security policy, where her work included positions with the Norwegian Ministries of Foreign Affairs & Defense, and NATO’s International Staff. While at NATO, Ms Spence negotiated several joint policies between NATO and partners on peacekeeping.

Ms Spence holds a master’s degree in International Relationsfrom Oslo University.

Erion Veliaj

Erion Veliaj was born on December 17, 1979 in Tirana.

After finishing high school “Sami Frashëri” in Tirana, he went to the United States, where he graduated in Political Science at “Grand Valley State” University in Allendale, Michigan. Also, he continued his postgraduate studies at the University of Sussex, obtaining a master’s degree in European Integration.

Before returning to Albania, Veliaj worked with several international humanitarian organizations in America, East Africa and Kosovo. In 2003, Veliaj founded the MJAFT! movement, a civic organization that brought together activists to raise awareness and protest about social, educational and political issues in Albania. In 2004, the movement “MJAFT!” received the United Nations Civil Society Award from Kofi Annan for his exemplary and effective methods of protest.

After that, in 2011 he joined the Socialist Party and became part of the Governing Council of the Socialist Party of Albania as secretary for youth and immigration.

Veliaj is the current Mayor of Tirana in his third mandate. He was first elected in April 2015 representing the Socialist Party of Albania.

Danela Arsovska

Danela Arsovska was born on December 20, 1979 in Skopje, she is a Macedonian politician and lawyer.

Supported by the VMRO-DPMNE party, she announced her candidacy as an independent candidate for mayor of Skopje where she won the local elections in North Macedonia in 2021.

At the national level, Arsovska is a representative in the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia in the National Council for European Integration since 2016. She is also a member of the Public-Private Partnership Council in the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia. In 2014, Arsovka was appointed chairperson of the Macedonian Association of Employers’ Organizations.

Arsovska received a degree in law from the University of St. Cyril and Methodius in Skopje. She has an MA in Economics and an executive education from the University of Oxford and the University of Sheffield. Arsovska held several senior positions in international intergovernmental organizations and has been a member of the Panel at the World Bank’s ICSID Tribunal in Washington, USA since 2016. In 2017, Arsovska was appointed a member of the OSCE Court of Consolidation and Arbitration in Geneva, Switzerland and has also been a member of the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague, Netherlands since 2017.

Majlinda Bregu

Majlinda Bregu is an Albanian politician and the current Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council.

Mrs. Bregu graduated from the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Tirana and obtained a Master’s degree in Social and Political Science from the same university. In 2005 she was awarded a PhD in Sociology from the University of Urbino, Italy.

Immediately after her graduation in 1996, Mrs. Bregu started her academic career as lecturer of “Research Methods in Social Sciences” and “Academic Writing”. In 1992 she began to collaborate as a part time anchor in the News Department at the Albanian Public Television, and later on as investigative journalist documenting the poignant issues of trafficking of women and domestic violence. In 2004 she was appointed as the national coordinator of the first National Gender Institute established in Albania.

In 2005, she got involved in politics. For three consecutive legislatures (2005-2017) she was elected a Member of Parliament of Albania, as a Democratic Party member (Centre Right). In July 2005, Mrs. Bregu was elected as the president of the Albanian Parliamentary Delegation to the EU-Albania Stabilization and Association Parliamentary Committee. She was also the chair of the sub-Committee on Gender Equality and Minors. From March 2007 to September 2013, she served as Minister of European Integration, National IPA Coordinator and the Government Spokesperson. Majlinda Bregu is the longest-serving Minister of European Integration in Albania.

During 2013 – 2017, Mrs. Bregu chaired the European Integration Committee of the Albanian Parliament. From 2015-2017 she also chaired the National Council for European Integration which is the highest consultative body on European Integration that promotes and guarantees the inclusive cooperation among political forces, public institutions and civil society. In both duties she encouraged an all-inclusive and far-reaching consensus in the Integration-related reforms and promoted the importance of the membership perspective for the stability of the region. She was an active contributor for the approval by the Parliament of the comprehensive justice reform which is currently perceived as a good-practice example for the Western Balkans and EU neighbourhood countries. Mrs. Bregu initiated several legal initiatives against gender-based and domestic violence, which are currently in force.

Majlinda Bregu was born in Tirana on 19 May 1974. Married, and mother of two. Fluent in English, Italian, and good in Spanish.

Astrit Panxha

Astrit Panxha is an economist with many years of experience. He is the founder of “Kosova Business Forum 2024”, an initiative to promote transparent public-private dialogue. Since 2015, Astrit is the Executive Director and one of the founders of the Kosovo Producers Club – KPK. Also, he is the author of the weekly tv programme “7 days with Panxhën” that deals with various topics about the economy.

Before the creation of the KPK, he worked as a senior economist in the Department of Financial Stability and Economic Analysis in the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo. Astrit joined the FSEA Department in 2009 as an economic researcher (until 2013), where he worked in performance and risk assessment of the financial sector in general and the banking sector in particular. In addition to the Central Bank, Astriti has international experience in the financial sector from different cities such as Vienna,Berlin and London.

In 2010 he was awarded the Letter of Excellence for his outstanding work in Applied Economic Policy Training at the Vienna Joint Institute. He also attended professional courses at the Federal Bank of New York, the European Central Bank, the Central Bank of Austria, the IMF Institute, the World Bank and worked for a period at the German Federal Ministry of Finance in Berlin.

Astrit has taught at Riinvest Institute in subjects such as Financial Management, Corporate Finance and Microeconomics. During his career he has published academic papers and his personal research has focused on the effects of banks in the real economy and on risk management in the banking sector and capital structure. Astrit holds an MSc in Corporate Finance from Lund University and BA in Economics from London Metropolitan University.

Elena Pici

Elena Pici is an experienced manager with a fast-growing career trajectory, spanning both public and private sectors in Albania. Currently holding the dual roles of Chairperson of the Board and Business Development Manager at Air British Petroleum (BP) in Albania, Elena brings expertise in strategic leadership and corporate governance. At the same time, she is offering project consultancy for Kosova Business Forum 2024.

Till recently, Elena served for two years as the first female Secretary General (SG) of the Ministry of Interior/Home Affairs in Albania, simultaneously becoming the youngest SG in the Albanian Government. Prior to this role, she served for 4 years as an Investments Program Coordinator in the Albanian Prime Minister’s Office, where she started as a Fellow of Lead Albania Program, supported by the Albanian-American Development Foundation. Over her career, she has work also for the Central Bank of Albania, Friedrich Ebert Stiftung and other organizations.

A passionate advocate of progressivism, Elena is dedicated to driving positive change in any of her professional and social endeavors, by keeping a genuine sensitivity towards the needs of the team members and the community at large, and a deep appreciation for the diversity of stakeholders.

She holds a MSc in Local Economic Development with Distinction from London School of Economics (LSE) as a Chevening Scholar. At the same time, she holds an Executive Education in Mastering Negotiations from Harvard Kennedy School of Governance, and she is also a graduate of the School of Political Studies of Council of Europe. In 2022, Elena was honored to be a Fellow of European Union Visitor Program, a testament of her alignment to European values.

Eugen Osmochescu

Mr. Osmochescu, for more than 25 years has designed, implemented, and assessed strategies, policies and institutional reforms to improve economy wide or sector specific competitiveness.

He has applied his expertise in market creation, investment attraction, regulatory reform, international law, commercial and tax law, inspection related matters, and good governance to projects for several national bodies.

The World Bank Group experience includes design and delivery across several industry verticals, collaborating with other regions and global practices, including cross cutting themes: green & blue agenda, gender, inclusion, and digital solutions.

Currently acts, as of October 2018, as Program manager within the IFC, Belgrade Office for Western Balkans. There he manages and overseas investment climate related activities as well as a flagship supply chain development program in 5 active member countries, including FCS/IDA: Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Kosovo, North Macedonia, and Serbia.

Kushtrim Canolli is a Senior Policy Planning Officer in the Office of the Prime Minister, responsible for various areas, including the rule of law, defense, security, and public administration reform.

His research focus is on the economics of transition and industrial economics. Mr. Hashani is actively engaged in overseeing multiple research and development projects implemented by the Riinvest Institute.

Mendi Qyra

Mendi Qyra completed his graduate studies at the Faculty of Agronomy in Prishtina University and post-graduate studies in economic and agriculture in Zagreb University. He is head of the construction company “Trim & Lum” with over 30 years of experience in high-rise construction with a wide geographic scope in Northern Macedonia.

Mr Qyra was also engaged in the field of tourism as e Director of hotel “Izgrev” in Struga and Insurance company “Signa” as well in non-governmental associations and business organizations as a Vice President of Albanian Economic Forum until he was appointed President of Economic Chamber of Northern Macedonia in November 2022 committed to protect the interest and solving problems in the business community.

Mr Qyra is a keen philanthropist dedicated to promoting and supporting initiatives across various sectors including education, charity, culture, art and sports.The best example is management and sponsoring the football club Trim& Lum by supporting initiatives that provide access to sport and programs that promote health and wellness for over 100 young people. Since 2023 this football team is on top of first league in Northern Macedonia!

Visar Vokrri

Visar Vokrri currently holds the position of Program Director for Developmental Research at Riinvest Institute, where he is responsible for coordinating research activities as well as teaching courses of economics at Riinvest College.

Also, since March 2023 he is also Chairman of the Board of Directors in the Public Company Termokos.

He has a doctorate in the field of economics in Polytechnic University of Marche in Italy and a master’s degree in Economic Development and Economic Policy Analysis, from University of Nottingham in United Kingdom. Previously, he worked in various organizations in the private and public sector in Kosovo, including the banking sector, the privatization process in Kosovo, projects financed by UNDP, EBRD, World Bank, and also from the Government of Kosovo. Visar has been engaged in various researcher activities and advocacy related to foreign trade, labor market, open-governance, market development and many other projects related to socio-economic  Kosovo.

In addition to his native language Albanian, he also speaks fluently English and Serbian.

Mrs. Dervisholli is a senior expert in economic development and international trade, with more than 15 years of experience working in executive roles both in the public sector and private. She played a leading role in designing policies for domestic and international trade, fostering the growth of the private sector. She was a member of state delegations in trade negotiations with different countries.As an author, she has made significant contributions through various articles, including the Handbook for Foreign Investors.

Sytrimja is a certified trainer for Circular Economy and Consultant at the World Bank Group/IFC, where she actively contributes to the strengthening of private sector initiatives and state institutions specialized in trade.

Sytrime’s contribution is also present in the community through the “Mentoring Our Future” program in the role of a mentor, in KUSA in the role of board president and in the Academy for Community Leadership in the role of trainer.

Sytrimja graduated from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Pristina and completed her Master’s studies in Public Administration at the American University in Kosovo.

Burimi Bajraktari

Burim is a Kosovar Architect based in Pristina. He graduated from the University of Prishtina, Faculty of Architecture in 2008 and continued his post-graduate studies at Kingston University London, Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture in 2011 and gained professional experience in London and USA.

Burim has been involved in the industry since his early years, as evidenced by his corporation on 3D projects visualization from August 2006 to June 2007.This period showcased his versatility and proficiency in various aspects of architectural design and project management.

In 2008, Burim initiated his architectural services, laying the foundation for a career that would soon make a significant impact on the industry with Visual Intelligent Product, to the strategic rebranding in 2015 with MODIUM architectural studio. This marked the beginning of a prolific career dedicated to pushing the boundaries of architectural design. Modium quickly gained recognition for its commitment to excellence and a fresh approach to spatial aesthetics.

Throughout his career, Burim has embraced challenges with a commitment to delivering not just buildings, but holistic experiences. His work reflects a dedication to sustainable and aesthetically pleasing designs, earning him admiration and accolades from peers and clients alike.

Burim continues to be a driving force in the architectural world, leading Modium towards new heights and shaping the future of the built environment with a blend of innovation, functionality, and a touch of artistic flair.

Shkumbin Gashi

Shkumbin Gashi, born in Rahovec, Kosova, where his journey into the world of concrete began. Fueled by a passion for business management, he embarked on his academic pursuits, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management in University for Business and Technology, pursued a Master’s degree in Business Marketing at the University of Sheffield.

In 2012, he found ALSTONE Precast Kosova and later Weicker LLC, companies dedicated to advancing the field of precast concrete solutions. Since 2019 most of the Alstone concrete production is exported to Switzerland and Germany market.

In 2023 he is an esteemed member of the Board Prefab Cluster Kosova, contributing his insights and expertise to the collective growth of the prefab industry in the region. In 2020, in partnership with Garain Studio from Switzerland, they are working on creating revolutionary Modular Concrete Volumetric House designs, pushing the boundaries of architectural possibilities.

Ardiana Gashi

Ardiana Gashi is a professor at the University of Pristina, the Faculty of Economics. Ardiana lectures on Labor Economics, Gender Economics, Econometrics and Statistics.

She earned a Bachelor degree from the University of Prishtina and pursued her postgraduate education, obtaining an MA (2001–2002) and a Ph.D. (2004–2007) from Staffordshire University in the UK.

Ardiana scholarly focus lies in the realm of economics, specifically with her doctoral research centering on labor economics and human capital. Her academic contributions are evident through publications in reputable journals, addressing topics such as labor force dynamics, employment trends, emigration, informal employment, and the intersection of employment with gender equality.

Vlora Tuzi Nushi

Vlora Tuzi Nushi is the Head of Office of UN Women in Kosovo. She has been working for UN Women/UNIFEM for the past 16 years. During this time, Vlora has been a driving force behind UN Women’s initiatives and successes. She has been influential in transforming conversations on some of the most important issues affecting the lives of women and girls in Kosovo.

She is committed to protecting women’s rights and further enhancing women’s empowerment. She sees herself as a passionate activist and gender equality advocate fully engaged to intercept and help make gender equality the new normal for all communities in Kosovo through innovative approaches towards realizing this aim.

Vlora was born in Kosovo where she also completed her master studies in Pharmacy.

She speaks English, Albanian, and Serbo-Croatian.

Edi Gusia

Edi Gusia is the Acting Chief Executive of the Agency for Gender Equality within the Prime Minister’s Office of the Republic of Kosovo. In this capacity she leads the agenda of ‘gender mechanisms’ in the public institutions of the Republic of Kosovo in implementation of the legal framework that guarantees gender equality in Kosovo.

In 2005, she was engaged as a in supporting the establishment and implementation of the mandate of the newly created agency. In 2007, she joined the agency as a civil servant and from 2009 to 2016, she headed the Monitoring and Reporting Division within AGE.

She has experience in drafting the main public policy documents in implementation of the Law on Gender Equality and advancement of the gender equality agenda in Kosovo, in a gender-responsive manner. She holds a Master’s degree in General and Comparative Literature, with a focus on women’s writing.

Melita is a passionate and innovative leader in the incorporation of new technologies in the field of financial management with +20 years of experience.

As the founder of “Melita&Partners” in 2010, she has managed to merge her two passions, finance and technology, to lead over 700 different businesses and organizations regionally towards the digital transformation of financial management. Recently, she founded the platform KUDO Become Freelance Digital Accountant, which aims to increase the skills of candidates to become a digital accountant with access to the global market. During October 2023 Melita has Co-Founded Bota Outsourcing with main offices in London in order to provide outsourced bookkeeping services to International Companies.

Melita has completed post-graduate studies in Business Administration at Staffordshire University in the UK. She has been a member of Society of Certified Accountants and Auditors of Kosova “SCAAK” since 2003 and holds the title of Certified Accountant. “Melita has also served as a Board Member in SCAAK”.

Gersi Gashi

Gersi Gashi has been a civil society activist for more than 10 years, with a background in public policy, economics, and legal studies.

Gersi currently serves as the Research and Development Director at the Center for Policies and Advocacy from June 2020. In this role, he has made significant contributions, such as serving as the main editor for various organizational publications, authoring influential papers, and impacting policies at the local and national level.

His current work mainly focuses on labor rights, specifically promoting decent work agenda as a means to ensure that there is sustainable social and economic development.

Agon Dobruna

Agon Dobruna was born on 23.06.1987 in Gjakova. He completed his primary and secondary education in his hometown, while he completed his university and post-graduate education at the University of Pristina, Faculty of Economics, majoring in management and informatics.

From 2010 to 2021, Mr. Dobruna served in the position of regional customer care leader in the Kosovo Energy Corporation (later: KEDS and KESCO) District in Gjakovë. From 2014 to 2018, Mr. Dobruna was a member of the Board in the Public Municipal Enterprise KRM ‘Çabrati’ sh.a. in Gjakova. After the 14th February elections, Mr. Dobruna was appointed deputy Minister in the Ministry for Regional Development, as part of the “Kurti II” Government, where he served for two years. As deputy minister, he was engaged in the creation of public policies aimed at the sustainable development of the regions, especially in the use of existing assets and future resources that will be developed to create a favorable environment for the development of the regions.

From June 2023, Mr. Dobruna has been appointed to the position of Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Finance, Labor and Transfers

Berat Mustafa

Berat Mustafa is the Chairman of the Board of Kosovo Manufacturing Club. He is an Economist by profession. From the 90s until 2012, he worked as a sales manager at Fluidi and RC Cola in Gjilan. The strategies he created helped the company to increase all products sales and they were also exported to many countries abroad.

In 2012, he founded the first flexographic company in the country, certified with European standards, “Flexograf” sh.p.k.

His long experience in business and his personality make him a leader in the industry. His vision for the future makes him persistent in the goals and results he sets for himself and the company, which translates into new investments in his company.

He is also known as a humanitarian, being involved in many humanitarian actions.

Jeta Statovci

Jeta Statovci was born in Pristina, Kosovo. She completed her Master’s studies at the London School of Economics (LSE) in the United Kingdom, with a focus on Health Economics. Previously, she completed her Bachelor studies at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT Kosovo) in the field of Economics and Management.

Ms. Statovci is a member of the parliament of the Republic of Kosovo. Currently, she holds two important positions within the parliamentary commissions, through which legislative and supervisory functions are exercised. Ms. Statovci is the vice-chairman of the Committee for Economy, Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade and a member of the Committee for Budgets and Transfers. In addition, she participated in the Investigative Commission for the Management of the Energy Crisis and the Parliamentary Commission for the Stabilization-Association Agreement in the European Parliament.

Lately, she has been chosen by the World Bank and the IMF to represent the region of Europe and Central Asia, among only eight young deputies from around the world, to dialogue about development issues, through the global initiative of young deputies (2023-2025 Global Young MP Initiative).

Previously, Mrs. Statovci has been in the position of advisor for social and health policies to the Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, who is currently the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani. During her time there, Jeta has had an active participation in proposing steps for the fight against COVID-19 and was part of the team for the drafting of the law against COVID-19. She has experience as a consultant and health management consultant for several institutions.

During her time in parliament, she has paid close attention to economic developments in the country, in relation to the labor market – with a focus on women and youth, the energy sector and enterprises.

Arben Shkodra

Mr. Shkodra graduated in economics/finance at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Tirana. Then he continued his professional career in the banking system, as well as in the trade office of foreign affairs near the Italian Embassy in Tirana.

Throughout his long career in administration high state Mr. Shkodra has held the position of director of the department in the Prime Minister and other parallel state positions for more than 11 years.

He was elected as a member of Board of Directors and vice president of the Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Albania for several years in a row. He currently holds the position of General Secretary of the Union of Albanian Producers from 2016.
Mr. Shkodra represents the association as a member of the National Integration Council European, National Economic Council, National Policy Facilitation Committee Commercial, as well as in some other work tables.

Mr. Shkodra also operates in the private sector, where he has been running his studio for 10 years business consultancy “Damiani and Partners”.

Gazmend Kadriu

Mr. Kadriu is a banker with over 30 years of experience in the banking system of Albania, Kosovo and Northern Macedonia – in commercial and central banks, as well as auditing and banking consultancy.
Mr. Kadriu was the Chief Executive Officer and then a member of the Board of Director of Union Bank since 2005.

Before that, he was the Director of the New Bann of Kosovo in 2004. He also served as a member of the Board of Directors and the Risk Management Committee at NLB Tutunska Banka in Skopje, Northern Macedonia.

Mr Kadriu also worked as the Head of the Supervision Department at the People’s Bank of the Republic of Northern Macedonia (1996-1998) followed by auditing and banking consultancy, including Erns & Young in Skopje.

Petrit Balija

Mr. Petrit Balija is the CEO and a member of the Board of Directors of the Kosovo Banking Association -KBA. He holds a Master Degree in Business Administration, an Executive Master in International Association Management and a Doctorate degree in Finance.

Before his engagement at KBA he gained valuable professional experience in different prominent banking institutions such as Bank of America and Wachovia Bank.

He has also contributed as a professor in academia locally and internationally in different subjects such as capital markets, organizational management, and leadership. His professional focus in his role as the CEO of KBA centers on financial inclusion, digital transformation of financial services and sustainable banking and finance.

Visar Perani

Visar Perani, for last eight years has overseen IFC strategy and operations in Kosovo in the function of IFC Country Officer for Kosovo, located in Prishtina. Since summer 2023, Visar has been assigned additional responsibilities as Country Officer for North Macedonia. He is senior banker with over 22 years of experience in private financial sector and IFC, with good market knowledge, focused on larger corporate credit business but also has vast retail banking experience.

Previously, Visar used to work for American Bank of Kosovo (ABK), established by US Government implemented by USAID project in early 2001. The focus of ABK was ensuring access finance to newly established business after the war, which was very challenging but also awarding experience. Takeover of American Bank of Kosovo by Austrian Raiffeisen Bank, led Visar to become regional manager for few branches, focusing on business development. For ten years, Visar was Chief Risk Officer for Raiffeisen, responsible for all types of risks in the bank with clear focus on credit risk. In addition, Visar was Supervisory Board member for Raiffeisen Leasing Kosovo and supported its establishment in the market.

The largest banking investments for local companies in Kosovo were underwritten by Visar and his team, giving him an excellent banking experience that led to his move to International Finance Corporation, member of World Bank Group.

Visar holds MBA from University of Sheffield. He speaks Albanian, English, Swedish, and some Serbo-Croatian and Turkish. His free times is mostly taken by the three small kids, but there is always some time for meeting friends and sports.

Arben Mustafa

Arben Mustafa graduated in the field of Banking and Finance at the Faculty Economics of the University of Pristina in 2005. In 2006, it ended his master’s studies in the field of Economics for Business Analysis in Staffordshire University in the United Kingdom.

At the same University, in 2014 he finished his doctoral studies with the topic “Competition of Banking Sector and its Impact on Risk-Taking of Banks and in Margins of Interest in Central and Eastern European Countries”.

In year 2007, he started working at the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo, where initially engaged with the Department for Financial Stability and Analysis Economic in the position of Economist.

In 2009, he was promoted to the position of Department Director and exercised this function until the end of 2016, when he moved to the Governor’s Cabinet where he various functions as Advisor to the Governor and Chief Economist.

In June 2022, Arben joined the Democratic Party of Kosovo, where assumed the responsibility of Coordinator of the Department for Finance in the Cabinet for Good Governance this political party.

Arben is also engaged as a Professor at “Kadri Zeka” University in Gjilan, where he teaches subjects from the fields of economics and finance.

Artan Loxha

Artan Loxha is a development economist with 16+ years of experience in private sector development, macroeconomic and labor policy, and national development planning. Artan has 10+ of senior leadership experience, overseeing donor-funded development projects amounting to a $40M+ portfolio.

He is currently serving as a Chief of Party at the five-year USAID Investment Promotion and Access to Finance project. Previously, Artan worked as an expert at World Bank headquarters in Washington DC, while he also managed UNDP’s economic portfolio in Kosovo and served as a senior consultant with Deloitte, WYG, and BearingPoint.

Artan also served as a Board Member at the Soros Foundation in Kosovo. Artan holds a degree in MPA Economics at Columbia University and MSc in International Development at The London School of Economics.

Jeta Zagragja

Jeta Zagragja is a technology entrepreneur, an investor, a startup mentor, and an education advocate. She brings more than 15 years of practical experience in technology and finance industry, successful startups, and non-profit sector in Kosovo and USA.

She’s the Founder and CEO at AnchorzUp, an outsourcing and innovative solutions company. Previously, she was co-founder and Director of Sales, Marketing, and Operations at UCX, before closing a successful exit in 2021. She’s formerly held positions as the former Chief Business Development Officer at Cacttus JSC and at Gjirafa JSC, amongst others.

Lyra Osmani Ahmeti

Appointed in February 2023 by Mr. Albin Kurti, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Ms. Lyra Osmani Ahmeti serves as the Acting General Inspector in the Republic of Kosovo.

Having worked in a variety of audit and financial sectors in the past, Ms. Osmani Ahmeti continues to use her extensive knowledge and experience in her current position to uphold the highest standards of financial governance, inspection, and auditing in the Republic of Kosovo.

Ms. Osmani Ahmeti prior experience included working as an Internal Auditor in the Prime Minister Office, where her skills guaranteed the precision and effectiveness of financial procedures.

The professional experiences of Ms. Lyra Osmani Ahmeti also include her work as a lecturer at the Society of Certified Accountants and Auditors of Kosovo, where she teaches “Financial Accounting” and “Elements of Internal Auditing Knowledge”

Ms. Osmani Ahmeti has a big impact on the development of upcoming accounting and auditing professionals by giving lectures at the Association.

Under the CSR Network Kosovo mentorship program, she also mentors participants in the UPSHIFT: Social Impact workshop, which is funded by UNICEF and the IPKO Foundation.

Osmani Ahmeti positions as Head of Internal Audit at Moneta Financial Services and Moneta Shpk have given her professional experience. She was able to use her professional expertise in a global setting in these roles.

During her work at PricewaterhouseCoopers, one of the most renowned companies in the world that provides expert auditing and tax advising services, she has acquired valuable experience as an external auditor.

The Acting General Inspector is currently studying for a Ph.D. at the University of Prishtina, having graduated from the department of Banking, Finance, and Accounting at the Economic Faculty. She also holds a Master’s degree from the same university. Additionally, Ms. Lyra Osmani Ahmeti graduated from Universum College with a degree in European Studies, Public Administration, and International Relations, and furthermore holds professional certifications in the field of internal auditing and accounting.
